Long established store of famous Akita confections has continued about 140 years. We produce “Tofu Kamaboko”, “Tofu Kasutera” and “Sambai mocha” using unchanged recipe and ingredients. Those have been descended as gifts for ceremonial occasions since Edo era.
“Tofu Kamaboko” is a local confection which made from Tofu and minced fish. It is sweetened slightly and steamed. “Sambai mochi” is traditional mochi confection particular to rice-producing region. It has unique soft texture like mochi but deliciousness of red soy bean paste spread in your mouth as you chew.
Mariee is a dress shop within a 5-minute walk from Akita Station. They sell and rent Yukata (a casual style of Kimono). You can take it home as a souvenir or dress it up to go out as it is.
