Lake Towada

A lake spanning between the prefectures of both Akita and Aomori, featuring beautiful lakeside foliage that turns yellow, crimson, and gold in the fall. For those in search of the fall colors, we recommend taking one of the cruise boats, or visiting Hakka Toge (an observation deck overlooking Lake Towada), or Shimeitei (which provides a great view of the "heart shape" of the lake).
