Ando family has lived in Kakunodate as a landowner since Kyoho era. We began to produce Miso (soybean paste) and Shoyu (soy sauce) using rice which was paid as a rent by tenant farmer. The wooden signboard “Hitachiden Kishoyu” hung out storefront still retains vestige from those days. In present, we devote ourselves to produce Miso, Soy sauce, and pickles. We have continued to protect our traditional taste handed down from generation to generation. In addition, brickwork warehouse used for guest room built during middle of the Meiji era is open to the public for free. Please come and visit us.
